During last years we are attending to a social change of important dimensions, which certain specialists have called the women social rise. In this context, gender studies have tackled this phenomenon, because it represents a break with social assignments of space, valid during a long period of time. However, men’s world hasn’t tackled by these studies until recently, when social sciences begin wonder: What is happening to men?

The intention of this paper is to board that masculine reality, starting from the existing theory of masculinities and throughout a focus group as a technique of sociological research, with the intention of locating in the social space new potential fearful masculinities faced with new sceneries of uncertainty.
