摘要:The academic praxis has been acting as an important dimension of student associations. Advocated by many, misunderstood by some, unfair and badly-performed by others, they constitute a controversial ritual, which in recent years has given much to talk about. For its defenders, it is seen as an integrative practice but the reality has left transpire some exaggerations and a feeling of humiliation that often exceeds what is reasonable. The exaggerations and deviations have conducted to complaints that once released in the media, lead to the rejection of these practices. However, the ritual is repeated year after year, the revulsion and complaints of the then “freshmen”, give rise to the already spoken humiliation and abuse of power by the "doctors" practice’s whom, being the same people, only are on different time horizons and different academic years. With the aim of deepen knowledges on this subject we develop an exploratory study with the help of an inquiry applied to higher education students. We apply also the self-concept inventory of Vaz Serra (1986) and the self-satisfaction social scale of Pais Ribeiro (1999).Data analysis, allow us to obtain empirical evidence on such a controversial and actual issue and plan, if necessary appropriate forms of intervention.
