In France, the social agreement of the postwar, which has given place to the creation of a society of status, has known a few transformations from the petroleum crises of the 1970’s and especially with the massive increase of the unemployment from the beginning of the 1980’s. Near thirty years later, the political challenge continues being the same: how to represent the diversity of the social anxiety? How calm some ones without increasing the resentments of others? How encourage those who have the dread of losing their status without despairing yet those that they do not have? These questions appear nowadays with more keenness because the current recession increases considerably the challenge that represents the possession of a status, it feeds the dreads and hardens, between the individuals and the social categories, the competition to obtain the best protections.
