The prominent figures of black American films are a clear exponent of thecrises of the traditional masculinity based on the patriarchal system. This cinema, of German expressionists’ inspirations, reflects the problems of a society who, up to this moment, had been considered to be invulnerable, vulnerability that is shown along a few prominent characters of doubtful morality, that under a safety appearance hide a deep weaknesses. Black cinema represents a change in the image of the mythical hero because the main black character becomes a victim of the social circumstances of the moment, and of course, of the femme fatale that reverses the image of women object, that becomes an intelligent person capable of leading men's actions.
