摘要:Today martial arts are part of Brazilian body culture. In this regard it is noted that the introduction of martial arts owns to the migration process of Oriental originated people initiated in the twentieth century a significant part of their relative success. However this raises questions about if the success had any connection to issues related to their situation experienced in their home countries in the pre-coming time, riches that often tend to go unnoticed. Thus, based on literature and documents research, we found that this process is expressed through the adoption in their home countries of the European standard of body work, highlighting the sport, understood according to Bourdieu (1990 and 1983) and Elias (1992) and gymnastics. A process that had in the "control of the potential violence" one of the most striking features becoming these practices less "strange" to the Brazilians at the time of its introduction.
