摘要:The objective is to examine the main factors that explain Soviet policy for sport, in particular its relationship with the international bourgeois sport. The central argument points out that, in the 1920s, this policy was aimed at the harmonious development of the individual in the light of the need to prepare for work and defense of the Soviet Union, as well as at a critique of bourgeois competitive sport, which reflected a socioeconomic structure of exploitation of individuals. Faced with the disappointment with the limited performance of the communist sport movement and strengthening of the capitalist sport from the 1930s, the Soviets began to work within the bourgeois sports organizations in order to strengthen the use of sport for the expansion of national prestige, the mobilization of foreign workers and the demonstration of the superiority of the communist regime
