摘要:Soil Erosion Risk Assessment in Someşul Mic Catchment Using GIS Techniques. Water soil erosion has become a global environmental problem. Soil erosion induces severe limitations to the agricultural use of land, by lowering the productive potential of soils, and also contributes to water pollution through the suspensions and nutrients introduced into the water bodies. Eroded land becomes unstable and vulnerable to further environmental impacts. The main causes of soil erosion are the unsustainable agricultural practices, deforesting, overgrazing and mining and construction activities. According to the European Environment Agency the lower basin of Somesul Mic watershed is caricaturized through a high risk of soil erosion. The purpose of this study is to realize a digital map of erosion sensitive areas and to quantify the quantities of eroded soil. Identifying the most vulnerable areas to soil erosion, will serve as a decision support in designing and implementing control measures. The information gathered will also be used in assessing the diffuse water pollution of the Somesul Mic catchment and furthermore in designing strategies of sustainable landscape management.
