摘要:With “Peer Review in QIBB”, in the 2009/10 school year, the first external evaluation instrument at system level for QIBB (the Quality Initiative in Vocational Education) was introduced and put at the disposal of Austrian vocational schools, following comprehensive preparatory work and a project and pilot phase that had already lasted several years. This paper briefly describes the process itself, presents the meta evaluation concept, discusses the initial evaluation results and concentrates primarily on the experiences with the implementation and the discussion regarding the further course of action for a permanent adoption and continuing further development of the process. The peer review process can be seen as an example of the opportunities and possibilities, but also of the challenges and difficulties, in connection with the introduction and the ongoing reassessment and improvement of quality management systems in the education sector. Furthermore it offers the Austrian Ministry of Teaching the possibility, in a relatively small context, to make and test conceptual, organisational and content-based decisions, which can (or could) then as a result be relevant and applicable for QIBB as a whole.
