摘要:The book titled Strengths based leadership: Great leaders, teams, and why people follow written by Tom Rath and Barry Conchie begins with a note of thanks to individuals who participated in the research done by Gallup that help developed this book. In this note, the two authors attempted to establish credibility with the reader immediately, in which they provided background information on Gallup as an organization. This information quickly allows the reader to feel energized and comfortable reading this book if he or she has the intent to develop more as a leader. The information was described as such, “Gallup has been studying human behavior for more than 70 years and consulting with organizational leaders for more than four decades. Over the years, hundreds of top scientists and leadership consultants have contributed to this collective knowledge base.” This type of information served as an effective method for gaining the trust of the reader. For clarification purposes, the book is divided into seven sections: Introduction, Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Conclusion, Additional Resources, and References. This book review provides information on each of these sections in order to offer readers a general overview and understanding of the book.
