摘要:When an individual begins a senior-level administrative position at an institution of higher education, many tasks must be addressed. A new leader must learn everything from the organizational structure of the institution to the institution’s overall culture. As a new leader, you must educate yourself about the institution and your position while making sound decisions and implementing your vision. While the transition differs for everyone, depending on position, institution, and experience, there are certain pieces of advice that apply to everyone beginning senior leadership positions. New senior administrators can all benefit from understanding the importance of communication, learning from co-workers, and being visible.
