His passion earned numerous foreign characters that are inserted in the sertão mineiro, arousing passion and conflict between the otherness. The short story "Orientation" brings an even more unusual situation, because it tells a story of love between extreme otherness: a Chinese and a mineira. We will show how living with the foreigner is difficult even when love is involved in the relationship and how the difference that attracts the couple is the same that moves them away at the end.
