摘要:Africa’s ability to meet its human welfare needs and to ensure a sustainable use of its natural resources are currently not addressed by donor agencies that continue to focus on traditional relief and emergency activities., Instead, this would require considerable investment in science and innovation in general, and engineering in particular. This article argues that viable strategies for building competence in engineering should seek to link engineering training directly to infrastructure projects. The improvement of infrastructure, again, will result in more private sector investment and thus more opportunities for engineers.
