摘要：The first goal among the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is to eradicate poverty and hunger and aims at halving the proportion of the people who suffer from hunger within the period of 1990-2015. Agricultural biotechnology could potentially play a vital role in eradicating hunger by increasing agricultural productivity, improving nutrition, increasing farm yields, facilitating conservation farming by providing soil management tools and the preservation of ecosystems.
