摘要：O folheto de cordel, veiculado em verso sob a forma impressa, emergiu do ambiente de oralidade da cantoria, reinante no século XIX, no Brasil. Dele absorvendo a estrutura poética básica em verso, efetivou uma técnica de composição impressa e estratégia discursiva própria da oralidade. Apesar disso, a pesquisa da Bahia vem constatando um continuado processo de tradicionalização em prosa de alguns folhetos – “verdadeiros” contos. Nesse processo de prosificação, o folheto passa por modificações, troca o registro discursivo original do gênero, instituindo uma nova construção fabular. Essa constatação levou-nos a procurar entender esse processo e as modificações sofridas nesse percurso. É o que este trabalho procura analisar, a partir do estudo de alguns cordéis.
其他摘要：The cordel pamphlet [known as ‘string literature’] printed in verse, derived from the oral environment common in nineteenth century Brazil, from which it absorbed the basic poetic structure and developed a technique of printed composition and discoursive strategy characteristic of orality. Notwithstanding this, research undertaken in Bahia has found an ongoing traditionalization process of some pamphlets in prose – “veritable” tales. In this prosification process, the pamphlet underwent alterations, exchanging the original discoursive register of its style and instituting a new fabular construction. These findings led us to study this process and the changes that occurred during the period. This is what this paper seeks to analyze from the study of a few cordéis.
