摘要:Andrea Simon-Maeda and Steve Cornwell, the co-coordinators of the gender awareness in language education (GALE) SIG, were fortunate enough to be able to interview Aneta Pavlenko, Associate Professor, in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology in the School of Education at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Pavelenko’s research interests combine several areas that are of interest to JALT members including the negotiation of identities in multilingual contexts; multilingualism, second language learning, and gender; and conceptual change in bilingualism. Andrea and Steve: Aneta, when we heard that there was going to be a special issue of the TLT we immediately thought of you. After all, you are a well-known scholar in the field of gender and language and your publications highlight the interplay of a number of overlapping areas of interest to JALT SIGs, for example, pragmatics, bi-lingualism, and global issues. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed.
