摘要:The ideas that were later to become Trellis Graphics were first presented by Bill Cleveland in his book Visualizing Data (Hobart Press, 1993); to be later developed further and implemented as a suite of graphics functions in S/S-PLUS. In a broad sense, Trellis is a collection of ideas on how statistical graphics should be displayed. As such, it can be implemented on a variety of systems. Until recently, however, the only actual implementation was in S-PLUS, and the name Trellis is practically synonymous with this implementation.
