摘要：Na obra Richard Rorty: prophet and poet of the new pragmatism, David Hall utiliza, brevemente na parte introdutória, uma metáfora comparando a atitude de ironia do pensamento rortyano com o “sorriso do gato de Cheshire”. Pretende-se neste artigo ampliar esta metáfora e introduzir, através da obra de Lewis Carroll, especialmente de seu personagem felino, conceitos chave do pensamento de Richard Rorty, como os de ironia e contingência.
其他摘要：In the book Richard Rory: prophet and poet of the new pragmatism, David Hall uses, briefly in the in the introductory part, a metaphor comparing the attitude of irony in the rortyan thought with the “Cheshire smile”. The purpose of this article is an attempt to broaden this metaphor and to introduce, through the works of Lewis Carroll, especially his feline character, key concepts of the rortyan thought, like the ones of irony and contingency.
