摘要:Spain is a country which has a long tradition of olive oil production and a highly consolidated tourism industry. Olive oil routes are being structured in the country with the aim of developing rural areas which may, on occasions, be some distance from traditional tourist destinations. In this paper, an analysis of olive tourism is presented with the objective of showing how olive oil (and gastronomy) can be, and at times already is, the main factor which attracts a tourist to a given area. The results presented in this paper are the product of an analysis carried out in the Jaén province in Spain, the area with the highest production levels of olive oil in the world.
