摘要：The couple therapy started to be noticed at the end of the 19th century, period in which the social assistances began to concentrate their efforts in helping the whole family, and not only different persons. Although there were many concerns in this direction, the absence of a specific literature and also, the period of the domination of the psychiatric trend at the beginning of the 20th years, made the affirmation of the couple and family therapy very difficult.
