摘要:This paper questions the achievement of the unlimited exploiting of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) with learners of different age groups – young learners, teenagers and young adults. While the obvious merits of tech- nology cannot be denied, the uncon- trolled use not only of the web but also of “Learn English Kids” materials may miss the point. The problem might be summed up as the question of choice between uncritical compliance with the unregulated stream of technology and techniques, and a responsible judgment on motivated options when choosing from ways and means that are available in the field of teaching English as a for- eign language today. The making of such a choice ultimately concerns the quality of language knowledge. It is related both to technology and methods. Therefore it is partly a question of culture in teaching. The focus will be on two topics: learning technologies and methodologies, Con- tent and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in the first instance, with only a mention of testing.
