摘要：This article gives a brief review of the history of the research of proverbs and sayings in the Kazakh linguistics. Analysis of proverbs and sayings that are fount of folk wisdom, defining peculiarities of the national identity, makes it possible to show stereotypes of people’s perception of men and women and to determine their place and role in the society. Public and social circumstances of the creation of proverbs and sayings in the Kazakh language are considered.
