摘要:Biopolitics has become undoubtedly one of the central categories to contemporary political thought. Given its importance, it is imperative to move forward on some theoretical operations that fail to account for its specificity, whereas administration of life as a form of domination. In this regard, and with the intention of rehabilitating the conceptualization of politics, we want to demonstrate how the apparent dichotomy between zoé and bíos that Agamben aims to discuss, not supported by the texts he uses (mainly Aristotle and Foucault), nor in the crystallization of such categories in sociopolitical practices (for example, the modern discipline with its roots in the Christian monastery). Indeed, the identification of zoé and as a way of life is what allows us to understand the biopolitical interest to manage biological life. Thus, only having clarified these categories, it will be possible to rehabilitate political thought on politics.
