摘要:The intention of this paper is to show how people use metaphors to understand and tolerate geological risk in the State of Colima, Mexico, which has an active volcano and is located in the most seismic zone of the country. This research was carried out from the perspective of Cultural Linguistics, with the methodology of cultural schemas. The understanding of this natural condition is based on four cultural schemas, whose core is made up of metaphors. These metaphors contribute to hiding the geological reality in which the people live, thus providing them with a subjective immunity.
