摘要：Efficient and effective retrieval techniques of images are desired because of the explosive growth of digital images. The current image retrieval is based on text-based approach. Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) has become one of the most active research areas in the past few years. It is a technique used for extracting similar images from an image database. Color, texture and shape features have been used for describing image content. But now-a-days, an interactive image retrieval technique is used for retrieving the images and to enhance the retrieval accuracy. This paper reviews various schemes of image retrieval.
