摘要：The principal feature in Mammographic Images is to find the region of interest. Extraction of breast region is an important pre processing step in the detection of the area which is required to be processed for further processing. Detection of edges is an image is very important step towards understanding image features. Since edges often occur at image location representing object boundaries , edge detection is used in image segmentation when images are divided into areas corresponding to different objects.The edge detectors present don’t show good results in mammographic images. In this paper a new algorithm is developed to find boundary of the breast which decreases the amount of further processing required
