  • 摘要:Wireless network is composed of sensor nodes. Sensor nodes are deployed in harsh physical environment to gather data and deliver the data to the remote base station. Since sensor nodes have energy source they have limited computation capability. The sensed information is difficult to operate the sensor network for a long period of time in an energy efficiency manner. The data collection problem is described in a round of communication; each sensor node has a packet to be sent to the distant base station. If each node transmits its sensed data directly to the base station then it will deplete its power quickly. The LEACH protocol is a chic solution to this data collection problem, where a small number of clusters are formed to fuse data and then sending to the base station. It chooses the cluster head to transmit the base station. A factor of 8 perfection is attained compared to the direct approach by LEACH before the first node dies. In this paper it proposes an improved protocol called PEGASIS (Power Efficient Gathering in Sensor Information Systems) which is a chain based protocol that is an improvement over LEACH. The PEGASIS in which form a chain among the sensor nodes so that each node will receive from and transmit to a close neighbour. By this protocol the amount of energy reduce per round while collecting data. It shows the performance by simulation result how it performs better than LEACH.
