摘要:Media coverage of climate change, over the last two decades, has attracted criticisms although this concern has been under-researched. This paper, therefore, is an effort at examining the role of a campus radio network at a university in Ghana, in educating its audience on the geopolitics and complexities of climate change in contemporary times. Data were collected with the aid of a questionnaire administered to university students and staff and a semi-structured interview to management of the station. Grounded in Altschull’s (1984) and Shoemaker and Reese’s (1991) media ownership theory, major results show a low coverage of climate change by the station, given the lack of expertise among the staff. It was also found that the station had no regular educational programme on climate change, thus students were seldom exposed to the subject. These findings have implications for a redefinition of the role of campus radio and education on climate change.
