摘要：Wireless networks, based on IEEE802.11x family of standards, have been deployed as an extension to the wired networks in many enterprises. It has been seen the widespread use of wireless networks in hospitals, universities, airport, hotels, restaurants, libraries, warehouses, factory floors, and convention centers. However, it is unclear what applications are run over wireless networks, and whether these wireless networks are being used for mission critical applications or just for casual convenient Internet access; most importantly, how the wireless networks are secured, what security protocols or technologies are used to protect information transmitted across wireless networks. The purpose of this study is to conduct a survey to understand the current industry practices in using wireless networks and wireless security management.
