摘要:Current trends indicate that an increasing number of Universities have been offering online classes without assessing the online learning management tolls from the perspective of the students. It is only when a University understands the benefits and concerns perceived by the student population that they can begin to implement or improve an online education environment that is conducive to a student’s learning. This paper provides a quantitative assessment of Blackboard as a tool used for online classes at a small rural Mid-Atlantic university. A survey was distributed to the undergraduate and graduate student population to understand their satisfaction with Blackboard and their perceived benefits / drawbacks of the technology. This survey was based upon a study that was conducted at the University of Denver in 2006. The results of the survey were analyzed to better understand the students’ perceptions of this technology and what improvements could be made.
