摘要：Advances in information technologies (IT) are one of the driving forces of change in Higher Education. As colleges and universities attempt to more aggressively pursue distance education as a means in search of increasing revenue, enrollment and visibility, they must identify the current and perspective students and their needs. There have been continuous research and debate on open source learning management systems. Meanwhile the opportunities entail challenges including how to use emerging information technologies, such as Web 2.0 tools to improve online teaching and learning.
