摘要:The impact of online education continues to grow in terms of enrolled students, disciplines, and inclusion of higher education institutions. The quality and effectiveness of online courses varies considerably. Instructional designers frequently lack content expertise and many faculty may not take advantage of the online tools found in modern learning management systems. A previous study reported that most online faculty did not use or value many online course tools. This study considers the effects of online faculty background in technology and academic discipline with the use of online course tools. Recommendations to improve online course design are provided.
