摘要：Brad microregion represents a geographic entity developed on the upper course of Crisul Alb River, being structured on two major compartments: the Brad Depression and the adjacent mountainous ridge (Metaliferi Mts and the Southern sector of Bihor Mts). Administratively, it lies on the Northern part of Hunedoara County, comprising an urban unit – Brad and ten rural ones: Baia de Criş, Blăjeni, Buceş, Bucureşci, Bulzeşti, Crişcior, Luncoiu, Ribiţa, Tomeşti, Vaţa, with a total surface of 98.000 ha and a population of 40.000 inhabitants. The present paper provides with an accurate pedologic inventory, pointing out the main qualitative and quantitative soil and land use characteristics as a basis for their sustainable exploitation.
