According to Nietzsche, History is useful only if it transforms the present. Oblivion is the possibility for the unknown to occur. This doesnt mean restricting all capacity for recollection. Instead, it is about relating history to the practise of suspicion. In so doing, there comes a detachment from the aim of objectivity, which entails a really existing past, in order to turn it into an active potential in the creation of values. In this way, the genealogists task of interpreting symptoms and withdrawing forces is constituted, facing the objective and universal history. We will also deal with the concept of amor fati, as an assertion about chance.
