摘要：Risks are very common in construction sector. Risk is the possibility of suffering loss and the impact of loss on the involved parties. Firstly risk is identified and then risk assessment and analysis is done. Then Risk management and risk mitigation is carried out. Risks affect construction sector negatively and focusing on risk reduction measures is important. Hazards like earthquakes are also main risks affecting construction sector in Pakistan. To counter earthquake risk, the measures of sustainable and improved resilience and resistance of building structures is required. The appropriate building design, good quality construction materials and better construction practices are very important for the strength and resistance of building structures. The improper design and poor construction work damages the architectural reliability and quality of the building structures. The hazard management policy of Pakistan is more focused towards rescue and relief and there is lack of integration and coordination between hazard management, environmental management, development planning and other hazard risk related organizations. There are some stage-wise procedures and considerations for the construction and strengthening initiatives of hazard resistant construction. There also is some success measures needed to be achieved and accomplished to ensure the construction of safer and hazard resistant building structures. Hazard resistant construction technique is needed to be linked with other hazard and risk mitigation techniques. For better understanding of building structure, construction materials, construction practices, hazard risks and their impacts, more structural and hazards research is needed. There is also some measures recommended for completion of safer, low risk and hazard resistant building structures.
