摘要:A novel series of liquid crystalline random copolyesters with different mesogenic units were synthesized using diphenylchlorophosphate as a condensing agent in pyridine. The structural features of these polymers were studied using FT-IR and 1H NMR spectral data. The thermal behaviour of these polymers was studied by DSC technique. A study on glass transition temperatures of the polymers in correlation with different monomer and mesogenic units was carried out. Enigmatically, these polyesters were found to possess liquid crystallinity and hence they may be potential candidates for device technology.
