摘要:Nobel laureate Milton Friedman and Michael Walker of the Fraser Institute hosted a series of conferences from 1986 to 1994. The goal was to create a clear definition of economic freedom and a method for measuring it. Outcome of these conferences the worldwide economic freedom was constructed and the first report on “Economic Freedom of the World” was published in 1996. Later the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal created another measurement for economic freedom titled the “Index of Economic Freedom”.
