摘要:Characterization of the grown cadmium oxalate single crystals is an essential requirement to describe, confront and explain their various properties. Cadmium oxalate trihydrate (CdC O ·3H O) single crystals suitable for the present investigation 2 4 2 were grown using controlled diffusion process in silica gels. Cadmium oxalate trihydrate crystal shows direct and indirect allowed optical transitions. If a beam of photons with hí > E falls on a crystal surface, there will be some predictable amount of absorption, g determined by intrinsic properties of the material. The ratio of transmitted to incident radiation intensity is expected to depend on impinging photon wavelength and thickness of the sample. The value of direct allowed band gap as E = 4.4 eV and indirect allowed g band gap as E = 4.24 eV.
