摘要:In India, agriculture was the main source of national income and occupation since the time of Independence. Around 72 percent of total working population was engaged in agricultural sectors at the time of independence. After the Green revolution there is drastically increased in Total agricultural production, per hectare yield and cultivated land area in term of Food grains productions in all India level but slowdown in the latter stages. This leads to the initiation of second phase of Green revolution in 1980s. Therefore from 1980s again the agricultural production started increasing and boosted by the liberalization policy in the late 1990s. Though area under food grains decreased but per hectare production increased. There is also found inter cropping decline in term of Yield, production and cultivated area after Green Revolution, as in the case of pulses. Wheat was largely benefited food grains by Green Revolution than other crops. There is also found Regional disparities in term of benefits of Green revolution.
