摘要：Research Question/Issue: In this paper we analyze the system of corporate governance in Macedonia with special emphasis on the supervisory board and management board. The study includes an overview of corporate governance regulation and framework in Macedonia as well as a questionnaire analysis to examine boards in Macedonian corporations. Research Findings/Results: Corporate governance in Macedonia is well regulated by law although not enough soft regulations are in place. An analysis of the responses reveals that Macedonian corporations have in place some of the features of corporate governance best practices when it comes to the size, composition and functions of their governing organs. Theoretical Implications: Corporate governance is largely studied in developed countries around the world, but even besides the growing attention it is getting; corporate governance continues to remain one of the least studied fields in the Republic of Macedonia. The paper provides evidence on the role played by the governing organs in Macedonian corporations and contributes to the general knowledge on corporate governance.
