摘要：As per the skeptics, the growth of service is largely due to the outsourcing of the hitherto services internal to manufacturing, and also that in the labour-abundant country like India, growth of services will not beneficial to the employees. It is also said that in terms of the employment generated services will not be able to benefit to the unskilled labour from agriculture unlike manufacturing. Therefore, it is imperative to see how services have contributed to the growth of developed nations, and also to see the pre-requisites for employment in each sub-sector so that a comparison can be made between manufacturing and services in terms of quality of life and productivity enhancement. On the basis of some of the case studies conducted on one of the sub-sectors of services, it was found that people who have taken jobs in these sub-sectors like porters, maids, bouncers, retail sales reps, and have migrated to urban region will also go back to their rural regions due to better quality of life and earning potentials in rural areas as compared to urban because of government initiatives like NREGA etc. Thus, it can be said that either possibility of migration from agriculture to this sub-sector of services (Eichengreen & Gupta, 2010), is not that easy, it will either remain towards manufacturing sector as usual or else their will be a shift in the approach. Rural masses will try to enhance their education and technical skills to better jobs and quality of life from higher level of service sectors. Initiatives like NREGA and development of vocational centers in and around rural areas will be helpful and much required to smooth-out this transition as seen by the researchers.
