  • 摘要:Rules and regulations have allowed business schools to progress and continuously improve throughout the years. The State of Business Schools: Educational and Moral Imperatives for Market Leadership by Cavico, Mujtaba, and McFarlane is a reflective book about the nature, role, and functions of business schools in the 21st century; particularly the ethical challenges facing business schools and businesses in general. A crucial ethical challenge that most business schools face is the topic of accreditation. The authors state, “In the United States, business schools generally seek and possess accreditation under general charters of regional accreditation bodies—that is, ‘umbrella’ accreditation, but there are three specialized agencies that provide specific business program or business school accreditation in the United States and elsewhere” (p. 20). They are the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), IACBE (International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education), and ACBSP (Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs). The authors state that AACSB is “in more demand nationally” (p. 20). The authors provide a critical analysis of AACSB expectations and argue that “there is not a great deal of flexibility with any of these AACSB standards” and further state how AACSB standards “are a bit vague and not at all precise and exact, and thus subject to interpretation” (p. 33).
