摘要：Fingerprint identification is one of the most reliable biometrics technologies. There are many applications of fingerprint recognition such as voting, ecommerce, bank, virtual banks and military. Fingerprint image enhancement is an essential preprocessing step in extract minutiae from the input fingerprint images. In this paper, we propose an image enhancement method by developing Mehter method for directional image. The enhancement is done by added the Block Filtering, Histogram Equalization and High-Pass Filtering. We have evaluated the performance of the enhancement image method by tested it with 100 fingerprint images. Experimental results show the enhancement method improves the recognition more accuracy.
