摘要：Face Recognition Technique (FRT) is getting more and more attention in area of pattern recognition. Due to its wide application domain, FRT has been the most interesting research area for researchers since last couple of decades. FRT is used for authorization, attendance system, criminal identification etc. Various algorithms have been proposed by many researchers. Some algorithms are based on local features like eye, lip, nose tip etc. Some algorithms are based on global features like Principle component Analysis (PCA), Fisher Discriminant Analysis (FDA), Gabor features etc. Local feature only considers the information present in some particular region for feature extraction, while global method gives equal importance to each of the pixel in image. In this paper, we have done detail literature survey of both kinds of features.
