摘要:Developing economies are the heart and soul of the world economies. Their progress in this technological and globalized era has provided a new dimensional platform to world economies. This progress can be only achieved through generation of employment. In this paper, there is focusing on employment generation in developing economy like India. Employment generation has been one of the important objectives of development planning in India. India's journey on the path of economic reforms has transformed it to one of the world's fastest growing economies. Its large and growing population is its best asset and can quadruple GDP and catapult India to the league of developed economies over the next decade. In this paper there is focusing on the employment challenges faced by India. It also includes employment and unemployment scenario in India. The paper is an attempt to assess the extent to which these various elements find place in development strategies and policies in India, what progress has been made in the attainment of the goals that are implied in the Agenda and its elements, what are the gaps and emerging challenges in respect of each of them. These elements relate to trade and investment, technological change, sustainable livelihoods, macro policy, entrepreneurship development, skills development, active labor market policies, social protection, conditions of work and poverty reduction. It also includes the role of top five sectors in Indian employment and Indian economy. Lastly it includes conclusion aspect on employment challenges and recommendation on employment generation in India.
