摘要：The development is the inherent process. The pace of development varies depending upon the response of the community. In some cases the development is rapid and fast while in some cases it is gradual. Naturally such communities need financial assistance from funding agency to gear up their development process.To get the funds from any funding agency it is essential toanalyze the present situation. This process is known as social assessment. Thus assessment is a process to know where we are and what is the condition before implementing the project and what will be after implementing the project. Therefore the social assessment is an essential aspectto receive the financial help from fundingagency. The social assessment helps to analyze social issues and solicit stakeholder views for the design of developmental projects.Social assessment findings are appraised as an integral part of proposed project.It also helps to analysis of social conditions of the community who are supposed to receive the funds from funding agency and suggests how project implementation will make the changes on social life by identifying the opportunities, constraints and social risks inherent in the developmental project and to put these ideas into design and implementation.
