摘要:Wireless channel performance is affected by the channel fading and noise due to degradation of the transmitted signal energy. Equalizer is used to reduce the effect of fading on the transmitted signal through the wireless channel. The channel characteristic is very essential before transmission of the symbol through the channel. In this paper, the authors developed a mathematical model to characterize the wireless channel for counting the effects of fading and noise on a transmitted signal. The characteristics of a fading channel determine the capacity of the transmission system. The model can be used to find the behavior of the wireless channel on the transmitted signal. The Bit Error Rate (BER) calculation for the channel is also derived in this paper. A simulation study has been performed in MATLAB tool to compare theoretical and simulated BER result. The result shows that the simulated BER performance is found to very close to the theoretical performance. Finally, antennal diversity is used to increase the channel performance by reducing fading effect.
