摘要：The open source software development methodology is initiated from the concept of source code sharing. It has many promises in order to develop high quality software projects with low cost. There are certain issues which are associated with open source software development. This research paper is based on systematic mapping in order to highlight the issues of open source software development. An evidence based study is performed in order to accumulate the knowledge about these issues. This knowledge will help to reduce the failure rate of open source software projects. When the failure rate will decrease, then the success rate of open source software projects will also increase. By this way all the promises to produce software projects with good quality and low cost can be fulfilled without facing the hurdles. In this paper we will analyze the issues of open source software development in order to make its adoption easy across the world. In this paper the systematic mapping is used, which is a most suitable way.
