摘要:The concept of emotional intelligence was introduced by Salovey and Mayer more than a decade ago (Salovey & Mayer, 1990). Unjustly, so far this concept has not found its place, neither in medical nor academic psychology. The basic idea of emotional intelligence is that emotions are a significant aspect of reality; one's own emotions as well as other people's emotions. Emotions play an important role in one's knowledge of self and others. Salovey defined five skills of emotional intelligence, which include knowledge of one's own, as well as others' feelings, which is possible only if the person is emotionally literate. Knowledge of the concept would contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the human nature, which is necessary for a humane relationship between a doctor and a patient, the relationship that is nowadays significantly impaired in the more and more sophisticated medicine
