摘要：When antidepressives are used, especially in elderly patients, it is necessary to consider side effects and whenever possible choose the antidepressive agent which has minimal side effects. The article presents the case of an elderly female patient with depressive disorder. The patient had been treated on the outpatient basis with maprotiline, then amitriptiline in the doses of 100 mg/die, when she developed an acute brain psychosindrome. The patient was admitted to hospital and given infusion and syptomatic therapy. When the acute organic psychosindrome resolved, one day later, the depressive disorder was successfully treated with mianserine, a tetracyclic antidepressive with minimal anticholinergic side-effect
