摘要：Paraneoplastic effects of tumor are the result of nervous system demage or dysfunction without indication that the nervous system is directly affected by tumor cells. Direct neoplasm effect (such as compression and infiltration), metastatic processes, adverse effects of tumor therapy (radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy), and opportunistic infections should be excluded previously. The causes of dysfunction are most frequently combined. It is believed to be caused by autoimmune disorder triggered by the tumor antigen. Two kinds of antibodies have been proved in liquor and serum so far: in cerebellar degeneration - anti-Yo antibodies and in sensory neuropathy and paraneoplastic encephalomielitis - anti-Hu antibodies. Pathological changes include loss of cells and their replacement with gliosis or development of a demielinating process.
